WELCOME TO OUR BARRIO!Barrio Alegria is a Latin Dance Company based in Reading, Pennsylvania choreographed and directed by Daniel Egusquiza, Joanna Pursley and Cristina Osorio.Barrio choreographers and dancers strive to overcome their own challenges in technique, story telling and performance. Our choreographies showcase the richness, warmness and diversity of the Latin Culture. We select and work with dancers from different backgrounds to deliver entertainment and education.  Barrio Alegria dancers are encouraged to express emotions along with movement. Barrio Alegria's mission is to promote and develop social and multicultural awareness through an intensive technical and reflective study of dance. Embedded in our choreographies are rich and stimulating stories that promote Latin dance as an artistic and cultural expression that has the power to grow and transform ourselves, our community, and our society. |
